On Monday, June 15, 2020, the Court of Cassation in Bahrain upheld two death sentences for Hussain Abdullah Khalil Rashid and Zuhair Ibrahim Jassem Abdullah, who are accused in cases related to the crisis in the country since 2011.

In a comment, the center urged “the abolition of death sentences in Bahrain, especially those related to the political situation in the country,” and the center believed that “such a step would reduce the remnants of polarization Bahrain as a result of the continuation of the political and human rights crisis in it, as this could enhance the national position that everyone seeks to confirm after the joint cohesion in the face of the Corona pandemic”.

The center renewed the hope that “appropriate grounds will be prepared for the release of all political prisoners in Bahrain,, and to start studying possible national exits appropriate for dialogue and national reconciliation”.
