Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassim has long been well recognized locally and internationally for his role in spreading the meanings of peacefulness and non-violence and calling for a peaceful reconciliation of the political crisis through consolidating national dialogue in Bahrain. This was evident in his sermons, especially in his speeches during Friday prayers.

In this paper we present citations from Sheikh Qassim’s speeches, in which he reflects his understanding of the concept of nonviolence, with the aim of confidence building and enabling mutual trust between social components, adopting the principles of constructive (non provocative) speeches , and insisting on national unity amongst all Bahrainis.
